Black History Facts:

The first African American Nobel Peace Prize was given in 1950 to United Nations official Ralph Bunche.  He received the Peace Prize for his efforts as mediator between Arabs and Jews in the Israeli-Arab war in 1948-1949.

The first African American to serve as a U.S. Senator was Hiram Revels of Mississippi.  He became a Senator in 1870.

Youth Choir Practice at 8:30 a.m.

Church Workshop - "Blacks in the Bible" conducted by Rev. Burnice L. Allen from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon.  Breakfast served at 9:00 a.m.

February 26, 2017:

The Ushers will sponsor a Black History program at 3 p.m.  Singing and talent provided by 100 Men in Black, Mr. Ralph Hilton, New Red Mountain Youth Dance Group and many others including some surprise guests.  To find out who, come out and enjoy this wonderful program.

In support of Heart Health Month, the Women's Ministry is asking everyone to wear red on this Sunday to show your support for this very important cause.
